Nice cream is a perfect way to satisfy your sweet cravings. Just keep some peeled bananas in your freezer and you’re ready to make vegan banana ice cream whenever you want. If you haven’t tried nice cream yet, you should really treat yourself with this frozen dessert!
Vegan Mermaid Banana Nice Cream
Mermaid Nice Cream Bowl made with love, frozen bananas and a dash of spirulina! My kid is using bamboo cutlery that we also use when we are out and about, instead of using plastic cutlery.
Do you know how plastic cutlery is made? Plastic cutlery is made from crude oil. The crude oil is shipped to a refinery. There, the crude oil is turned into plastic pellets. The pellets are then shipped again, this time to be melted down into the shape of the cutlery. The cutlery is shipped for a third time – to the country of destination. Once arrived, its popped into trucks and driven across that country, to then sit and wait for the hungry customer to choose to use the plastic cutlery. All for the 20-or-so minutes of use that we require it for. Then it ends up in landfill or worse, in nature. Insane right? Don’t use single use plastic, bring your own cutlery in your bag instead! Easy and much better for the environment.
Ingredients (2 servings)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
around 4 frozen bananas (cut into chunks)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/2 tsp spirulina⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Berrys and granola for decoration⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Optional: 1 tsp coconut oil⠀
1. Add the frozen bananas, spirulina (and coconut oil) to a powerful blender or food processor.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Process and use the temper to help push the frozen fruit into the blades. Continue until you get the creamy smooth texture you love.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. If using a food processor make sure to pause and scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. At this point you’ll have a soft serve ready to enjoy. Decorate as you wish. If you like to harden the nice cream you can just pop your nice cream in the freezer for 30 minutes or so. Enjoy friends!
