Are you also a popcorn lover? We like to make this turmeric popcorn to celebrate the start of the weekend. It can also keep, divided into jars (saved from other store bought products), as an easy snack later in the week, if you don’t manage to eat it all in once. You can add all sorts of lovely ingredients, but this is a favorite - turmeric and nutritional yeast (cheesy flavor!). Bonus for parents: The kids loves the yellow colour!⁣⁣
1 tablespoons virgin coconut oil⁣⁣
1/2 cup organic popcorn kernels⁣⁣
1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric⁣⁣
1/2 teaspoon sea salt⁣⁣
optional: 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast⁣⁣
How to:⁣⁣
In a large pot, over medium-high heat, combine the coconut oil along with tumeric & a few con kernels. When they start to pop add the rest of the kernels, cover tightly & shake the pan until the remaining kernels pop. Be mindful to keep the popcorn moving to prevent burning. Remove from heat when the popping slows.⁣⁣ Then toss in the nutritional yeast & salt. ⁣

Tumeric has natural anti-inflammatory compounds called curcuminoids, and these curcuminoids have several health benifits & have been associated with a positive effect on various diseases. Therefore I use it everyday in my kitchen.
